We had a fabulous 4th of July this year. Normally, my dads side of the family all get together up in Foley, MN at my aunt and uncles farm place. But this year everybody decided we should switch things up. So my parents held the gathering yesterday. My parents were happy to do it. My dad cleaned up the yard and everything looked great. My mom made some awesome food! We had potatoes sliced and cooked in olive oil with onions, chicken noodle salad, shish kabobs (ptotatoes, onions, olives, artichoke hearts, and steak. My sisters spent time at the pool because it was 100 degrees. I hung out with Kaleb and the family. Kaleb watched some History Channel stuff about the Revolutionary War. It was a generally relaxing day spent inside because the humidity was too intense to be outside. Around 7pm it was nice out and we had a bean bag toss tournament. I watched because, well frankly, I STINK at the game. We had some silly little fireworks that we tried to light off but the mosquitos were crazy. We stayed out long enough to take the picture I posted! My sisters friends, Becky and Jenny helped with the photo! I am glad that they were able to spend a few days with us! We had a great time at the lake this week! And just having them around is a nice time! I am thankful for them! They are great friends to my sister. And great friends are hard to find! That photo has been a dream of mine for a long time. And FINALLY I was able to accomplish it! I am excited to try many different options. But it will have to be on a less mosquito-y evening!!
God Bless our country and all who read this!!!
